Why Creatives are Forever Kids + A Monday Challenge

Out of all the DIYs that I create, here and elsewhere, kids projects are strangely i of my favorites to come up upwardly with…well, aside from flower DIYs (naturally).

At that place is just something so freeing about creating DIYs for kids. Patently, it's vastly different from creating projects for adults. So information technology's nice to switch gears in that way, every at present and so. But it'south more than that – kids are and so imaginative. They don't need the whole story fed to them…they tin can kind of take something and run with it…make it up on their own. They're non worried about the issue. They enjoy the process, the experimentation, the liberty to explore. And I LOVE that!

It nearly makes me daydream most being a kid again. At least for a piddling while. Until I think about high school and and so I'chiliad like, 'Nope, I'm good.'

As artists, creatives, and fifty-fifty bloggers, we all have a fiddling fleck (or a lot) of that forever-a-kid gene in united states of america. The one that says it's okay to explore new things, go lost in something, and non worry well-nigh where XYZ will take us. At least when it comes to making. That freedom is what allows for those crazy,' why didn't I think of that sooner' moments – those bursts of creativity and imagination. Those moments that you would do just almost anything for when you're on a deadline and have absolutely NO ideas.

Sometimes though, you have to pull that kid back out of you to remember it's in that location.

So today, I want to challenge you to ease upwardly on the boring must-do piece of work that pulls you from those creative threads and accept an 60 minutes, or fifty-fifty just a few minutes, to do something just for fun. Something, annihilation, that volition bring a smile to your face and make you feel like a kid again. Doodle on the back of a napkin at dejeuner. Skip through the park on your way to coffee.You lot don't even have to have a program to get started! Isn't being a kid fun?!
